The Toys Garage is the home of one collector’s 1:64 obsession: more than 800 diecast cars, photographed, reviewed and written up by someone who actually opens the packages.
Who’s behind the garage
I’m a lifelong diecast collector, and I’ve been chasing small cars since long before it was a ‘hobby’ with a capital H. What started with a single Matchbox on a shop shelf turned into a collection that now spans 1:64, 1:43 and 1:32 scale, with a soft spot for the brands most sites quietly ignore.
What you’ll find here
Every review, guide and photo on this site comes from cars I actually own and handle. No press samples, no recycled marketing copy, no affiliate-driven ‘best of’ lists written by someone who has never opened the package. Just honest opinions on what’s worth your money and what isn’t.
- Hands-on reviews of Hot Wheels, Matchbox and premium castings
- Treasure Hunt, Super Treasure Hunt and Red Line Club (RLC) coverage
- Deep dives into Majorette, Norev, SIKU and other underrated brands
- Printable checklists and practical collecting guides
- Original, handmade dioramas you won’t see anywhere else
What makes us different
Plenty of sites can tell you a new car exists. We care more about whether it is any good. Our reviews look at the casting, the paint, the wheels and the details up close, using our own photography instead of stock product shots. And we give the same attention to overlooked brands like Majorette, Norev and SIKU as we do to the latest Hot Wheels, because a great casting deserves coverage no matter who makes it.
When a model deserves more than a spot on a shelf, we build it a home. Our handmade dioramas turn everyday cars into one-of-a-kind scenes you will not find anywhere else.
Let’s talk
Collecting is more fun with company. If you want to share a find, suggest a car to review, or just argue about whether a certain casting is overrated, head to the contact page and say hello. The garage door is open.
